Big tech companies, products of the capitalist world, often push ethical boundaries to catch up and exceed each other’s latest breakthrough. There are evidences that some companies have rushed inadequately tested products to market, leaving users to deal with the fallout. Although problems are investigated, consequences are often minimal due to the immense power these companies wield. Protests and calls for regulation frequently go unanswered, allowing big tech to repeat this vicious cycle.
‘Wingman: The Big Tech Loop’ is a comedic satirical video inspired by real-life cases, showcasing both sides of the story: the tech company and the people. The company’s perspective highlights their innovations and their handling of emerging issues, while the people's perspective reveals the negative impacts of the company’s reckless innovations. In the movie, this is depicted through an AI slowly taking over the user's body, ultimately harming their physical and mental well-being.
