Has our modern way of life been predicted by the 16 Prophecies Of Buddha?
The 16 Prophecies of Buddha, according to the Tripitaka, was predicted 2500 years ago during the 6th century B.C. from the dreams of King Pasenadi Kosala. The comparisons are chillingly accurate when we see the state of our world today. It is also, by implication, clear that Lord Buddha was not referring to only the modern era but to an era when the people and rulers are unrighteous. The Buddha explained that these dreams described a future time where rulers would be dishonest, avaricious, wicked, and possess a multitude of other vices.
The results of my research and analysis lead me to concentrate on the first prophecy, which states that "four stout oxen came running from all four directions. Furious with anger and grudges, they looked like they wanted to fight until death. But when they got close to each other they just retreated without crashing at all."
According to Buddha, this prophecy consists of natural disasters, global warming, and climate change. The intention of my project is to retell and reconnect people to this prophecy and emphasize to them how very much alive this prophecy is. Most importantly, I want to remind people of the consequences of their actions— not only pertaining to natural disasters but its presence in their daily lives.
REOCCURRENCE is created to set an example, raise awareness, and provide an experience for the audience with motion graphics, sonic design, and ambience design in order to deliver immersive multi-dimensional visuals reflecting the prophecy with the events in our modern lives.
